Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ed Kershick!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kershick moves out of range of the strikes.
Martinez tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kershick was well out of range. Poor timing from Martinez.
Martinez misses with an uppercut.
Martinez throws a wild body kick that Kershick sees coming a mile off.
Nice defenses there by Martinez.
Kershick lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Martinez circles away quickly and effectively.
Martinez looks for the body kick but Kershick saw that one coming.
Kershick tries to clinch up but Martinez circles away and keeps his distance.
A looping hook to the body misses from Kershick. Martinez does a little dance to reset his feet.
A combination from Kershick does no damage.
Martinez walks into a jab.
Kershick swings for the body but Martinez moves out of range.
Kershick throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Martinez sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Martinez throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Kershick moves out of range of the leg kick from Martinez.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Martinez throws a hook to the side of Kershick's head but Kershick sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Martinez loads up on a big right hand but Kershick slips the punch.
Martinez jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Kershick ducks under a wild hook from Martinez.
Martinez misses with a body shot.
Kershick closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Martinez manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Kershick thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Martinez's head.
Kershick is pressing down on Martinez's thigh, looking to free his foot. Martinez is holding on for now.
Kershick throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Martinez to regain full guard.
Kershick has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Martinez to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Kershick is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Martinez pulls down on the head and he's put Kershick to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Marcelo Martinez!
