The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Broyles fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Mubiala lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

It looks like Scott Broyles has been cut.
Mubiala lands a jab.
A solid body kick from Mubiala.
Broyles scores with a sloppy right hand. Mubiala should have avoided that one.
Broyles drops his hands momentarily and Mubiala takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Broyles drops back, looking for a kneebar! Mubiala looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Mubiala looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Mubiala!
Mubiala wants to lay and pray for a moment but Broyles keeps working.
Broyles tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Mubiala wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Mubiala is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Mubiala got a little sloppy there for a moment and Broyles has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mubiala has managed to get both his arms back between Broyles's legs - danger averted.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mubiala is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Broyles throws a hook but Mubiala blocks it.

Mubiala leaves Broyles with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Mubiala darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Broyles throws a series of punches but Mubiala avoids them all with ease.

Broyles dives in and scores a takedown into Mubiala's guard.
Mubiala is pulling down on Broyles's head. It's preventing any offense from Broyles, at least for the moment.

Broyles clobbers Mubiala with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Broyles will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
No joy there for Broyles, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Mubiala stuffs the takedown attempt from Broyles. Broyles gets slowly back to his feet.
Jean Marie Mubiala seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Broyles throws a nice looking combination but Mubiala bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Mubiala lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
A jab from Broyles misses.
Broyles throws a poor cross that misses
and Mubiala counters with a head kick. That will keep Broyles thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Broyles is rocked!

Scott Broyles's cut is getting worse.
Mubiala ducks down and throws a big overhand right - it lands flush on the jaw, knocking Broyles out cold! The fight is over!
