Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tank Abott! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Damian Blaszczyk! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Blaszczyk walks into a jab.
It looks like Damian Blaszczyk has been cut. Tank Abott seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Blaszczyk lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Abott gets in close and instigates a clinch. Abott breaks from the clinch.
Abott rushes Blaszczyk and presses him up against the cage. Blaszczyk is trying to force a seperation but Abott has the dominant position. Blaszczyk wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Abott fails to pull guard.
Blaszczyk tries to circle away but Abott has him pinned against the cage. Abott tries to pull guard but Blaszczyk holds him up against the cage and eventually Abott drops back down to his feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Blaszczyk working hard to break the clinch. Abott has Blaszczyk pressed against the cage, preventing Blaszczyk from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Abott keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Blaszczyk's efforts to push away. Blaszczyk tries to circle away but Abott has him pinned against the cage. Blaszczyk looks gassed!
That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Abott lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Abott is looking to advance position but Blaszczyk won't allow it. Abott is keen to just control but Blaszczyk is a slippery customer. Abott seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Abott decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Abott drives through with a takedown into Blaszczyk's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Abott throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Blaszczyk works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Blaszczyk keeping full guard, as Abott tries to pass. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Abott gets to his feet. Blaszczyk looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Abott drives through with a takedown into Blaszczyk's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Abott decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Abott tries to work over Blaszczyk's front leg with a kick but Blaszczyk checks it. Abott pushes Blaszczyk up against the cage in a clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Abott gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Abott perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Abott sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Blaszczyk defending well though. Abott missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Abott seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Blaszczyk does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Abott scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Abott escapes and gets back to his feet. Abott looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Abott not doing much here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Abott trying to pass the guard but Blaszczyk defending well. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Blaszczyk looks like he's trying to stand up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tank Abott dominated that round. The cut man is working on Damian Blaszczyk's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Blaszczyk keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Abott takes the fight into the clinch. Blaszczyk wants to get back to striking at distance but Abott won't allow it.
Blaszczyk has had enough of the clinch but Abott keeps him there for the moment. A frustrated look appears on Blaszczyk's face as he tries to break the clinch. Blaszczyk is trying to break free. Abott tries to pull guard but Blaszczyk holds him up against the cage and eventually Abott drops back down to his feet.
Abott lands a hook that snaps the head of Blaszczyk backwards. Blaszczyk is breathing heavily. Blaszczyk is pressed up against the cage. Abott has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Blaszczyk down to the mat. Blaszczyk avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tank Abott. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Abott bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Abott throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. The fight moves into the clinch position. Blaszczyk is trying to break free. Abott pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Abott looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Abott missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Blaszczyk scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Abott manages to mount him!
BOOM! Abott connects with a massive shot to the dome!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Blaszczyk is squirming around, avoiding Abott's attempts to control the action. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Blaszczyk taking shots to the head.
That has opened up Damian Blaszczyk's cut even more. Abott landing shots from mount.
Damian Blaszczyk's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Damian Blaszczyk's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Tank Abott!
