Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Carmella Bing! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hy Per! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Alec Ball and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bing shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Bing slips a nice elbow through Per's hands, connecting with Per's forehead. Per works his way to full guard. Good work. Per working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Bing. Bing postures up.
Bing with a flurry of punches that miss. Per working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bing doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bing manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Bing wants to pass the guard but Per is keeping the position. Per looking for a sweep. Not yet Per, not yet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bing wants to control from the top but Per keeps moving. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bing sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Per's guard. Per trying to hold on to Bing's head to control him but Bing postures up.
Per gets full guard. Per not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Bing throwing strikes but missing. Per working for a triangle but Bing defends it easily.
Bing content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bing postures up.
Bing looking to sit in guard and control but Per gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Per throws an elbow that misses. Bing uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Per's guard. Nice move by Bing! Per is trying to keep Bing in close.
Per has his foot on Bing's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bing works his way back into a safe position though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Per lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Bing! Per looking to control but Bing is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Bing avoids a series of strikes thrown by Per.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Per throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Bing avoids a series of strikes thrown by Per.
Per breaks from Bing's wrist control and lands an elbow. Per lands a nice shot to the head. Per jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Bing is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Bing and Per has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Bing on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Bing tries to get out of the position. Per laying and praying for a moment but Bing takes advantage and regains half guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Per throwing shots but Bing is blocking nicely. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Hy Per dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Bing circles away from the clinch attempt.
Bing dives in and grabs Per's left leg, looking for a takedown. Per pushes down on Bing's head and hops out. Bing takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Bing closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Bing cracks Per with an elbow. That is naaassty. Bing creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Bing wants to control for a moment but Per uses the opportunity to move back to half guard. Bing is stalling here. Per is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Bing seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Per has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Sloppy strikes there by Per. Per passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Bing!
That's one minute gone in the round. Per lands a big shot there that rocks Bing but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Bing is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Per locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Bing is forced to tap!
