PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Squidy Lockett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jordan Randallmen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Jordan Randallmen was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jordan Randallmen!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Edson Gomes and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lockett misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

It looks like Jordan Randallmen has been cut.
Randallmen shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Lockett as he avoids it easily.

Squidy Lockett has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jordan Randallmen.
Lockett shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Randallmen pinned against the cage. Randallmen gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Randallmen bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Randallmen avoids the strikes from the bottom by Lockett.

You can see the frustration on Lockett's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Randallmen misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Lockett goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Randallmen moves to clinch but Lockett breaks away

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Randallmen pulls guard effortlessly.

Randallmen can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Lockett controls the pace.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Lockett stands up from Randallmen's guard - Lockett perhaps looking for a knockout.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Randallmen misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Lockett throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Lockett shoots in but no luck this time.
Lockett fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Randallmen avoids it really well and circles away.
Randallmen shoots for a takedown but Lockett saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Lockett scores with the left hand. Randallmen knows he should have avoided that one.
Randallmen is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Lockett moves into range and clinches up with Randallmen.
Randallmen tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Lockett smiles and moves away.
Randallmen is breathing heavily.
Lockett fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Squidy Lockett. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Lockett displaying some good clinch control by pressing Randallmen up against the cage.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Lockett escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Randallmen gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Lockett kicks Randallmen off and gets to his feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Horrible takedown by Lockett or perhaps it was just good defense by Randallmen which made him look bad.

Lockett clinches up against the cage.
Randallmen has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Lockett is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Randallmen gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Randallmen trying to control the position from guard on top but Lockett is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Lockett utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Randallmen has gone for a leg lock! Lockett slips out almost immediately though and dives into Randallmen's guard.
Lockett seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Lockett throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Randallmen works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Randallmen can't keep his opponent in guard - Lockett advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close second round but I would say that Squidy Lockett will probably get the nod.

Lockett throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Randallmen tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Lockett is in Randallmen's guard.
Lockett wants to pass the guard but Randallmen is keeping the position.
Lockett is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Lockett has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lockett is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Squidy Lockett showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Lockett, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
