Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, The Mixed Martial Artist Formerly Known As Brigadier Victory! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Erik Cake! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Robert Douchet and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cake takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Brigadier Victory lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Cake at a distance.
Brigadier Victory lands with a kick to the ribs.
Cake shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Brigadier Victory counters with a stiff right hand. Cake with a poor takedown and Brigadier Victory counters with a nice uppercut. Brigadier Victory really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Brigadier Victory connects with a looping right hand.
Brigadier Victory lands with a nice body punch. Left hook, right uppercut from Brigadier Victory. Cake walks into a straight right hand from Brigadier Victory. Cake with a lazy takedown attempt and Brigadier Victory counters with a lovely straight right hand! The Mixed Martial Artist Formerly Known As Brigadier Victory has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Erik Cake. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Brigadier Victory dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Cake fails with the takedown and Brigadier Victory counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Cake looks gassed!
That's one minute gone in the round. Cake shoots in for a takedown but Brigadier Victory shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. A nice inside leg kick there by Brigadier Victory. That's going to slow Cake down. A low kick from Cake is predictable there and Brigadier Victory counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Brigadier Victory lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Brigadier Victory. Cake throws a chopping leg kick but Brigadier Victory manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Cake ducks right into an uppercut from Brigadier Victory. Cake wants to clinch but Brigadier Victory slips to the side and Brigadier Victory counters with a stiff right hand. Brigadier Victory connects with a body shot. Brigadier Victory is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. A left and a right from Brigadier Victory both land. Nice combination. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Cake throws a leg kick but Brigadier Victory moved away. Brigadier Victory tries a head kick but it misses.
Erik Cake seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cake tries to clinch up and Brigadier Victory counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cake's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Brigadier Victory connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Cake scrambles back to his feet. Brigadier Victory checks a leg kick. The Mixed Martial Artist Formerly Known As Brigadier Victory is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Cake throws a sloppy head kick and Brigadier Victory moves out of range easily. Cake tries to clinch but Brigadier Victory moves away and Brigadier Victory counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Brigadier Victory throws a shot to the body.
Brigadier Victory thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Cake if he has to take too many more of those.
Brigadier Victory lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Brigadier Victory connects with a crisp jab. Brigadier Victory throws a combination. Cake tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Cake shoots and misses and Brigadier Victory counters with a lovely shot to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brigadier Victory fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Cake looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Brigadier Victory misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Brigadier Victory circles away from the clinch attempt and Brigadier Victory counters with a one-two to the body. Brigadier Victory pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Cake back to the cage. Brigadier Victory follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Cake is rocked! Cake finds himself stumbling back on wobbly legs after being clipped by a right hand. He's up against the cage, ducking and weaving under Brigadier Victory's strikes but an uppercut finds it's way through and Cake falls! - He's completely out of it and the ref jumps in to save him!
