PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Graham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alberto Vasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alberto Vasquez struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 146.3lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alberto Vasquez!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Graham shoots in looking for a takedown but Vasquez manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Graham's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Vasquez drives through with a takedown into guard.

Vasquez thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Graham wants to improve his position but instead Vasquez has moved into half guard.
Vasquez lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Graham pushes Vasquez away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Vasquez gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Vasquez might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Graham kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Graham shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Vasquez's guard.

Graham goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Vasquez has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Graham but great work by Vasquez.

Horrible takedown by Graham or perhaps it was just good defense by Vasquez which made him look bad.

It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.

Graham has got one arm under Vasquez's chin. This could be trouble... Vasquez trying to control the other hand but Graham gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Vasquez has tapped out! The fight is over!
