Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Robson Castro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dmonray Malapitan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Malapitan is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by My Time is Now. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Robson Castro! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dmonray Malapitan! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Jonathan Paton and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Malapitan swats away the attempt to clinch by Castro. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. A combination from Castro does no damage. Castro throws a nice inside leg kick. Castro fakes the leg kick and cracks Malapitan in the body. Malapitan is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Malapitan ducks under a wild hook from Castro. Castro's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Castro duly obliges. Malapitan moves away from the strike by Castro.
That's one minute gone in the round. Malapitan shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Malapitan slips a jab and a cross from Castro.
Danga de danga de dang - Castro scores with a four punch combination! Castro takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Castro throws a series of punches but Malapitan avoids them all with ease. Robson Castro is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Malapitan shoots in looking for a takedown. Castro tries to sprawl out of it but Malapitan keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Castro manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Castro scores with a nice head shot.

Robson Castro dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Castro throws a sloppy head kick and Malapitan moves out of range easily. Castro misses the jab. Castro throws a head kick that misses. Castro throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Malapitan. Castro stuffs the takedown. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Castro scores with a kick to the body.
Malapitan throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Castro's waist but Castro gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Malapitan off to one side.
That's one minute gone in the round. Castro misses with a right hand and Malapitan counters with a shoot takedown. Castro fights it but they end up in guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Malapitan postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Castro is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Malapitan, into his guard. Malapitan looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Malapitan wants to stand but Castro is controlling the position. Castro tries to free his leg and advance position but Malapitan is retaining full guard. Malapitan is looking to stand back up but Castro counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Malapitan. Castro is looking for a kimura but Malapitan is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Castro to get the leverage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Malapitan is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Malapitan kicks Castro off and gets back to his feet. Robson Castro seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Malapitan shoots in looking for a takedown but Castro manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Malapitan's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Robson Castro has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dmonray Malapitan. Malapitan throws the left hand but Castro avoids the punch easily. Castro throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Malapitan misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Castro.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Castro throws a jab but it's blocked by Malapitan. Castro looks to score with a jab to the body but Malapitan is just out of range. Malapitan avoids the head kick by Castro.
Castro fails in his attempt to clinch. Castro defending well as Malapitan loads up on a big left hand.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Malapitan walks into a jab. Robson Castro is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Castro throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Castro throws a lazy right hand but Malapitan sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Malapitan misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Malapitan is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Castro. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Malapitan looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Dmonray Malapitan will probably get the nod - 10:9. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! And we move into the final round!
Castro throws a nice outside leg kick. Malapitan bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Malapitan working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Castro is looking for a sweep. Castro is working hard here to advance position. Castro sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Malapitan lands strikes from half guard. Castro blocking the ground and pound attempt from Malapitan. Castro is staying active underneath Malapitan, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Castro missing with punches from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Castro wants to get back to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Malapitan moves into full mount! Castro won't be happy about that! Castro tries to lock up and control but Malapitan gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Dmonray Malapitan has got the better of the ground game so far. Malapitan prevents Castro from getting the reversal. Malapitan lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Castro regains half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Malapitan is working for a kimura but Castro is defending it quite comfortably.
Malapitan seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Castro does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Castro moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Malapitan wants to pass the guard but Castro is keeping the position. Malapitan looking to sit in guard and control but Castro gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Castro has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Castro preventing the sweep. Castro drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Malapitan manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Castro has Malapitan in his guard. Malapitan wants to pass the guard but Castro is keeping the position. Malapitan postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Malapitan trying to control the position from guard on top but Castro is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Malapitan prevents Castro from getting back to his feet. Castro keeping full guard, as Malapitan tries to pass. Malapitan advances position into side control! Castro gets back to half guard. Castro is refusing to be controlled, as Malapitan sits in half guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. This has been an exciting period of action! Malapitan is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Castro doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Malapitan. Malapitan is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Castro defends it well.
And that's the end of the fight! Dmonray Malapitan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Malapitan has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
