Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Luis Chalas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Aeron Greyjoy! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Albert Achterberg and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Greyjoy leaves Chalas with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Greyjoy misses with a takedown and Chalas counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Chalas postures up.
Chalas thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Chalas postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Greyjoy is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Chalas, into his guard. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Greyjoy's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Chalas really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Chalas escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Greyjoy gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Chalas working for a triangle but Greyjoy defends it easily.
Greyjoy loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Greyjoy really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Chalas. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's one minute gone in the round. Greyjoy makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Greyjoy wants to pass the guard but Chalas is keeping the position. Chalas has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Greyjoy doesn't defend quickly enough and Chalas has managed to lock this one up! Can Greyjoy escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Chalas on a fantastic submission victory.
