Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Barristan Selmy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Johnatan Pricer! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Saam Ante and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pricer shoots in and drives through. Selmy sprawls well. Pricer has a takedown stuffed. Selmy thuds a left hand into Pricer's body. Selmy sizes up Pricer with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Pricer is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Selmy shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Pricer's guard. Selmy avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Selmy wants to pass the guard but Pricer is keeping the position. Pricer is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Selmy postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Selmy working some strikes from top position. Selmy trying to control the position from guard on top but Pricer is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Pricer is trying to control the position but Selmy postures up.

Pricer looks gassed! Selmy keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Pricer's head. Pricer is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Selmy might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Selmy trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Pricer looking to hit a scissor sweep but Selmy is one step ahead there. Selmy wants to control from the top but Pricer keeps moving. Selmy missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Pricer keeping moving, preventing Selmy from controlling successfully.

We're going to have a standup here because Barristan Selmy wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Selmy looks for a takedown but Pricer sprawls well. Pricer stuffs the takedown attempt from Selmy. Selmy gets slowly back to his feet. Selmy throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Pricer was covering up waiting for the punch and Selmy finishes the takedown easily into guard. Pricer looking for a guillotine here but Selmy defends easily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Selmy is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Selmy is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Selmy wants to control from the top but Pricer keeps moving. Pricer looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Pricer had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Selmy defends it easily. Selmy controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Selmy wants to control from the top but Pricer keeps moving. Pricer tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Barristan Selmy has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Selmy bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Pricer's head. Danga de danga de dang - Selmy scores with a four punch combination! Pricer shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Selmy sprawls well. Selmy wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Pricer gets slowly back to his feet. Barristan Selmy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johnatan Pricer. Selmy closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Pricer to the mat! Pricer manages to get full guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Selmy trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Selmy has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Selmy lands a couple of decent looking shots. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Barristan Selmy dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Pricer on the wrong end of a nice hook. Selmy lands with a nice body punch. Selmy shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Pricer pinned against the cage. Pricer gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Selmy lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Selmy fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Pricer avoids it really well and circles away. Pricer pivots, looking for a leg kick but Selmy is out of range and Pricer settles back down. Selmy shoots in for a takedown but Pricer shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Barristan Selmy. That's going to take a lot out of him. Danga de danga de dang - Selmy scores with a four punch combination! Barristan Selmy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Selmy scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Pricer is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Selmy's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Selmy is working for a submission of some sort.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pricer moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Pricer is looking for a triangle but Selmy pushes his legs off easily.

Selmy closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Pricer trying to hold on to Selmy's head to control him but Selmy postures up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Barristan Selmy. Selmy bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Pricer's head backwards. Nice sprawl there from Pricer as Selmy shoots in. Selmy lands a nice looking body shot.

You can't force these things though and Selmy defends well. Barristan Selmy is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Pricer wants it to stay on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Barristan Selmy. That's going to take a lot out of him. Selmy shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Pricer is trying to defend but Selmy finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Pricer won't allow Selmy to pass to mount. Johnatan Pricer has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Selmy perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Pricer slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
