0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Badau Aguiar! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kowalski bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Kowalski goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Aguiar rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Kowalski's guard! Nice work there by Aguiar! Aguiar is pushing down on Kowalski's leg trying to pass to half guard. Kowalski is fighting to maintain full guard but Aguiar has managed to sneak the leg through. Kowalski is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Kowalski looking for a kimura from the bottom but Aguiar passes into side control! Kowalski dodges the ground and pound from Aguiar. Aguiar in side control, throwing shots but Kowalski defends. Kowalski is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Aguiar's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Kowalski looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Kowalski wants to improve his position but Aguiar is controlling well.
Aguiar seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Aguiar lands strikes from half guard. Kowalski is looking for a sweep. Aguiar is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. The fighters are battling for position here. Kowalski manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Aguiar is in close to Kowalski's body, working some short punches and elbows. Kowalski keeping moving, preventing Aguiar from controlling successfully. Aguiar wants to stand but Kowalski has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Aguiar preventing the sweep. Aguiar wants to control from the top but Kowalski keeps moving. Kowalski working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Aguiar doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Kowalski is tightening it up a little... Aguiar has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Aguiar reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Aguiar taps out! nice BJJ there by Kowalski!
