Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ryszard Rynkowski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Project Nine!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Micheangelo Fripello and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nine moves into the clinch.
Nine tries to pull guard but Rynkowski won't allow it.
Nine has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Rynkowski is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Nine jumps guard but Rynkowski turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Ryszard Rynkowski has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Project Nine.

Rynkowski has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Nine clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Rynkowski controls the position.
Rynkowski doesn't have the hooks in and Nine manages to turn into his guard.
Nine wants to pass the guard but Rynkowski is keeping the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nine is pushing down on Rynkowski's leg trying to pass to half guard. Rynkowski is fighting to maintain full guard but Nine has managed to sneak the leg through.

Nine is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Nine seems to be working for a kimura but Rynkowski defends the submission attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Nine decides to stand up.
Nine shoots in for a takedown but Rynkowski shows good takedown defense.
Nine moves to clinch but Rynkowski breaks away
and Rynkowski counters with a leg kick.
Rynkowski looks to land a combination but Nine avoids it well.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Nine.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Nine will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Nine shoots in looking for a takedown. Rynkowski tries to sprawl out of it but Nine keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rynkowski manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Rynkowski tries a head kick but it misses.
Nine tries to clinch up
and Rynkowski counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Nine looks gassed!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Rynkowski goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.


It looks like Project Nine has been cut.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Nine looks to clinch
and Rynkowski counters with a perfectly timed head kick, knocking Nine out cold! Wow, that took some serious skill and not a little luck! Rynkowski is taking it in his stride though, strolling around like it's no big deal. What a guy.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:09 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Ryszard Rynkowski!
