Hare regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Hare has his foot on Hart's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hart works his way back into a safe position though. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hare accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Hare wants to pass the guard but Hart is keeping the position. Hart pushes a forearm under Hare's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Hare is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Daniel Hart! A relieved looking Daniel Hart thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
