Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Cain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joseph Minicucci (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Daniel Cain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joseph Minicucci!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Jorge Garcia and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cain gets tackled into the cage by Minicucci. Minicucci maintains the clinch.

Minicucci pulls Cain into guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Cain being controlled here momentarily.
Minicucci lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Cain!

Minicucci throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
Minicucci tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Minicucci sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Cain blocking the ground and pound.
Minicucci looking to control and managing it successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cain working to try and regain half guard.
Cain could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Cain wants to hold on but Minicucci pushes him away.
Minicucci controlling from the full mount.
Let's hope that Minicucci has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Minicucci is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Cain to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Cain shrugs it off.
Poor strikes thrown by Minicucci there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Minicucci shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Cain cracks Minicucci with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Nice defenses there by Minicucci.
A right-left combo lands from Cain.
Cain stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Cain wants it to stay on the feet.
Minicucci throws a half hearted mid kick.

Minicucci moves into the clinch.
Cain tries to break the clinch but Minicucci is controlling the position.

Minicucci escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Minicucci misses with a jab, cross combination.
Good shot there by Cain.
Minicucci dives in and grabs Cain's left leg, looking for a takedown. Cain pushes down on Minicucci's head and hops out.
Daniel Cain has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joseph Minicucci.
Minicucci shoots in for a takedown but Cain shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Minicucci changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cain tries to avoid it but Minicucci manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cain to the ground. Cain escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Minicucci drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Minicucci rushes Cain and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Minicucci keeps control of Cain as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Minicucci is trying to break the clinch but Cain has him pressed against the cage.

Minicucci drags the fight down to the ground.

Minicucci had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Cain defends it easily.
Cain wants to stand but Minicucci has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Minicucci has control of Cain's left arm, preventing Cain from doing any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Minicucci escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cain gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Minicucci manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Cain manages to get himself to full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Minicucci accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cain is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Minicucci passes Cain's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Minicucci works his foot free and advances to mount.
Cain blocking the ground and pound.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Minicucci tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Cain wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Minicucci.

Minicucci looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Cain knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Minicucci on the ground.
Minicucci controlling his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joseph Minicucci showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


A head kick misses from Cain.
Cain cracks Minicucci with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Minicucci shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Cain defends it nicely.
Minicucci throws a hook to the side of Cain's head but Cain sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Minicucci fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Minicucci avoids the head kick by Cain.

Minicucci closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Minicucci gets control of Cain's arms and successfully pulls guard. Minicucci will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Cain is fighting to break Minicucci's control of his arms but Minicucci is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Minicucci lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Cain!

Cain tries to hold on but Minicucci pushes him away.
Minicucci throwing strikes here but Cain is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Cain wants to control but Minicucci is having none of it.

Minicucci throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Cain because Minicucci loaded up on that one.
