Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Evgeny Grishin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shelby Clark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Evgeny Grishin has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Evgeny Grishin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Shelby Clark! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Clark darts in and clinches Grishin up against the cage. Clark jumps guard but Grishin stands there with Clark around his waist. Clark gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Clark stops a takedown attempt from Grishin.
Clark gets control of Grishin's arms and successfully pulls guard. Clark will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Clark is on top in guard.
Clark loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Clark not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. It looks like Clark might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Clark keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Grishin's head. Clark controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Clark has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's one minute gone in the round. Clark stands up and waves to Grishin to follow him. A big right from Clark misses. Clark is looking to clinch. Grishin throws a sloppy head kick and Clark moves out of range easily. Clark shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Grishin is trying to defend but Clark finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Grishin is breathing heavily. Clark frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Clark landing punches. Clark looking to control and managing it successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Clark putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Clark stands up from mount. Strange move. Clark has closed the distance and engaged Grishin in a clinch.
Clark breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A big right from Grishin misses. Clark has a takedown stuffed. Clark feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Clark postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Clark is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Grishin is working an open guard so Clark takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Clark forces Grishin back against the cage and clinches. Clark lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Grishin or not. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Clark has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Grishin uses from the top position. Clark manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Grishin manages to get himself to full guard.
Grishin can't keep his opponent in guard - Clark advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Shelby Clark dominated that round. That's time! Grishin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Clark is trying hard to land a takedown here. Grishin sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Clark tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Grishin counters with a nice body kick.
Grishin feints a jab promting Clark to slip. Grishin then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Clark slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Evgeny Grishin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Clark drives through with a takedown into Grishin's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Clark slips nicely into half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Clark moves nicely into side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Grishin takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Clark stands up and we're back to a striking position. Clark dives in and grabs Grishin's left leg, looking for a takedown. Grishin pushes down on Clark's head and hops out. Clark throws a push kick but Grishin slaps the foot to one side. A slow jab from Clark misses its intended target.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Clark tries for a takedown but Grishin sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Evgeny Grishin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shelby Clark. Grishin leaves Clark with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Clark jabbing away but nothing is landing. Clark throws a head kick but Grishin moves out of range.
Grishin keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Grishin looks to land a combination. Clark sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice sprawl there from Grishin as Clark shoots in. Grishin throws a head kick that misses. Clark looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Grishin misses with a head kick.
Clark closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Clark lands in his opponent's guard. Clark wants to control from the top but Grishin keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Clark passes Grishin's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Clark content to control rather than advance. Clark passes the guard and advances to mount! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Grishin is just holding on here. Clark manages to take his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Shelby Clark showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
A head kick misses from Clark. Clark tries to clinch there but Grishin circles away.
Grishin tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Clark manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Clark throws a one two combo.
Clark feints and as Grishin raises his hands in defense, Clark changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Clark's corner is telling him to maintain position. Grishin wants to control but Clark passes easily into half guard.
Clark is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Grishin wants to get back to his feet.
Clark works his foot free and advances to mount. Clark scores with a couple of good head shots there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Clark controlling the position easily from mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Clark's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Clark working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Grishin looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Clark! Submission of the night perhaps?
