Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between El Guapo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy McDonald (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, El Guapo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tommy McDonald!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Ryoma Takatsuka and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guapo on the wrong end of a nice jab.
McDonald connects with a jab.
McDonald scores with a jab to the body.

McDonald tries to keep at a distance but Guapo has taken the fight into the clinch.

McDonald pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
McDonald misses with a takedown attempt - Guapo sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
McDonald on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Guapo dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on McDonald. That did some damage!
Guapo wants to clinch.
McDonald shoots in and drives through. Guapo sprawls well.
McDonald scores with a nice head shot.
El Guapo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McDonald shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Guapo defends it nicely.
El Guapo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tommy McDonald.

Guapo throws a leg kick which misses McDonald's front leg but catches the back leg as McDonald tries to avoid it.
A looping hook to the body misses from Guapo. McDonald does a little dance to reset his feet.
Guapo shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Guapo moves in looking to clinch but McDonald pushes him off.
Guapo lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but McDonald circles away quickly and effectively.
McDonald takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from McDonald.
Some bone on bone action there as McDonald checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Guapo ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

McDonald tries to keep at a distance but Guapo has taken the fight into the clinch.
Guapo misses with an elbow over the top.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A head punch blocked on the inside by McDonald.

McDonald breaks from the clinch.
The fighters circling - McDonald throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
McDonald takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
A looping hook to the body misses from McDonald. Guapo does a little dance to reset his feet.
A slapping body kick lands there for Guapo.
McDonald misses the shot to the body.
Guapo avoids the body shot from McDonald.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Guapo uses good head movement to avoid the hook from McDonald.
Guapo misses with a body kick.

McDonald shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Guapo manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
McDonald trying to control but Guapo is working from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Guapo keeping full guard, as McDonald tries to pass.
Guapo controlling the position.
McDonald advances position into side control!
McDonald working the ground and pound but Guapo is defending the strikes.
McDonald tries to move into full mount but can't pass Guapo's legs.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
McDonald wants to lay and pray for a moment but Guapo keeps working.

McDonald is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Guapo looks calm but he's in trouble here. McDonald gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Guapo is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! McDonald lets go of the hold and Guapo can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Tommy McDonald!
A less than humble Tommy McDonald misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
