Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ultimate Warrior (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cody Boyd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cody Boyd is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ultimate Warrior!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cody Boyd!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Cecil Peabody and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Boyd. Those never looked like landing.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Warrior.
Boyd tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Warrior gets caught flat footed, as Boyd shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Boyd got a little sloppy there for a moment and Warrior has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Boyd has managed to get both his arms back between Warrior's legs - danger averted.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Boyd throws an elbow that misses. Warrior uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Boyd's guard. Nice move by Warrior!

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Boyd is on top in guard.
Warrior is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Warrior is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Boyd throws a strike but Warrior rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Warrior works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Warrior works his way into full mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Warrior looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Boyd really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Ultimate Warrior will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Warrior closes this distance looking for a takedown but Boyd circles away.

Ultimate Warrior overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Warrior tries to reverse the position but Boyd maintains control.
Warrior is squirming around, avoiding Boyd's attempts to control the action.
Boyd is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Warrior can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Warrior manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Boyd manages to get himself to full guard.
Warrior pushing down on Boyd's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Warrior is keen to just control but Boyd is a slippery customer.

Warrior is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Boyd pushes Warrior off but Warrior dives into side control.

Warrior working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Warrior has hold of Boyd's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Boyd tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Warrior cranks the arm and Boyd screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Boyd, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Ultimate Warrior!
A less than humble Ultimate Warrior misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
