Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Debonair Mitchell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Doe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Debonair Mitchell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joe Doe!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Donatello Bradman and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doe fails with the takedown

and Mitchell counters with a shoot takedown. Doe fights it but they end up in guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Doe keeping full guard, as Mitchell tries to pass.
Mitchell lands a couple of elbows.
Mitchell content to stall in guard here.
Mitchell has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Doe is trying to keep Mitchell in close.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Doe being controlled here, momentarily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Debonair Mitchell wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Doe fails to land the takedown.

Mitchell throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Doe was covering up waiting for the punch and Mitchell finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Doe has momentary wrist control but Mitchell slips an elbow through the middle.
Mitchell pushing down on Doe's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Mitchell lands strikes from half guard.
Doe really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mitchell. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Still in half guard, Mitchell seems content to control.
Mitchell throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Mitchell looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Mitchell seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Doe for as long as he can get away with.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Doe has hold of Mitchell's hands but Mitchell slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Mitchell lands a nice short elbow.
Mitchell perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Doe wants to control but Mitchell is keeping busy.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Doe taking some punishment here, with Mitchell in his half guard.
Doe on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Mitchell winds up and cracks Doe with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Doe wants to control but Mitchell is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Mitchell looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Mitchell has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Doe on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Mitchell performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Debonair Mitchell dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Mitchell drives through with a takedown into guard.
Mitchell engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Doe is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Mitchell throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Mitchell works a leg free and moves into half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Mitchell is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Doe doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Mitchell.
Mitchell lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Doe is trying to control but can't.
Mitchell is controlling the pace.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Mitchell has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Doe defend it? Mitchell steps over the head and cranks it - Doe is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Mitchell!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:09 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Debonair Mitchell!
