Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Felipe Melo!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Alexandre Firmino and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Melo goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Parta has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Melo.
Melo clobbers Parta with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Parta has his takedown stuffed
and Melo counters with an outside leg kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Melo lands a big head kick that sends Parta tumbling to the mat! Melo takes a step backwards and waves Parta back to his feet - he wants the finish!
It looks like Kakka Parta has been cut.
Parta on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Melo digs a good hook to Parta's body.
Parta is breathing heavily.
Melo lands with a good body shot.
Melo lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Parta backs up against the cage.
Melo goes for a small jab and connects. Now Melo goes in closer pressing the issue. Left hook, right straight! Parta stumbles back but Melo runs in with a huge uppercut knocking Parta to the ground! What a finish! You have to wonder if Parta will ever be the same after a knockout like that.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Felipe Melo!
Felipe Melo took his opportunity to call for a title shot in his post fight interview.
