Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steve Mazyck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Casey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Casey has chosen Alien Ant Farm- Smooth Criminal as his entrance music. Mazyck is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. John Casey acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Steve Mazyck! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Casey! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Robert Douchet and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mazyck takes a kick to the side of the head. Mazyck is breathing heavily. Casey lands the left hand. Mazyck takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Mazyck walks into a jab. Casey jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Casey goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Casey is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Mazyck throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Casey swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Mazyck. Casey plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Casey dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Casey goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Mazyck on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Casey connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Casey cracks Mazyck with an open hand slap.
That's one minute gone in the round. Casey connects with a looping right hand.
Casey has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Casey catches Mazyck with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Casey lunges at Mazyck with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Mazyck's hand. Casey jabs Mazyck to the body, keeping him at a distance. Mazyck walks into a stiff left hand from Casey. Casey throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Casey closes the distance and clinches up with Mazyck, looking for a takedown. Casey pushes Mazyck against the cage but Mazyck circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Casey lands a high kick!
Mazyck walks into a left hand. Casey lands with a slapping head kick. Mazyck tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Casey misses with a takedown and Mazyck counters with a nice leg kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mazyck takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Casey throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Casey might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Casey dips to his left and cracks Mazyck with an uppercut! Mazyck scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Casey gets caught flat footed, as Mazyck shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Mazyck seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Casey scrambles and gets back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Casey misses with a head kick.
Mazyck shoots for a takedown but Casey saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Casey connects with a right hand. Mazyck shakes it off. Casey darts in and clinches Mazyck up against the cage. Casey wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Mazyck has him pressed against the cage. Casey tries to pull guard but Mazyck holds him up against the cage and eventually Casey drops back down to his feet.
Steve Mazyck has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Casey. Mazyck stalling.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Casey has had enough of the clinch but Mazyck keeps him there for the moment. Casey ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Casey no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Mazyck stays in close to Casey's body and controls the position. Casey is looking to stand up but Mazyck isn't so interested in that idea. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Mazyck is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
We're going to have a standup here because Steve Mazyck wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Casey lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Casey dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Casey lands a head shot. Casey shoots in but no luck this time. Mazyck shoots in for a takedown but Casey shows good takedown defense. Casey lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Casey's jab looks to have found its range, popping Mazyck under the eye. A head kick from Casey lands but Mazyck takes it in his stride. Mazyck moves in looking to clinch but Casey pushes him off. Casey scores with a crisp jab that stopped Mazyck in his tracks. Casey throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Mazyck's head. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Casey plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Mazyck shoots in but Casey avoids the takedown attempt easily. Mazyck gets cracked there but stands up to it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Casey throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Mazyck. Casey throws a head kick but Mazyck moves out of range.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Casey wants to get back to his feet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mazyck stalling. Mazyck wants to control but Casey is keeping him busy. Casey keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Casey has one foot on Mazyck's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Mazyck throws a series of punches but Casey avoids them all with ease. Steve Mazyck is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Casey tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Mazyck manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Casey lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Mazyck looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Casey is fending him off so far but Mazyck persists. Nope, Casey circles away and we're back to standing. Mazyck is looking to clinch but Casey is avoiding it.
A jab from Casey finds it's way through Mazyck's defenses. Casey plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Casey listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Casey blocks a head kick by Mazyck.
The crowd cheers as Casey lands an impressive looking overhand right. Mazyck doesn't seem phased though. Casey cracks Mazyck with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Casey smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Casey stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Casey wants it to stay on the feet. Mazyck lands with a good body shot. John Casey seems to be getting the better of the standup. A punch lands to the side of Mazyck 's head but he takes it in his stride. Casey leaves Mazyck with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Casey avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Mazyck shoots in looking for a takedown but Casey manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Mazyck's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Casey cracks a nice hook into Mazyck's ribs. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Casey throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Mazyck's head. Mazyck will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Nice shot lands for Casey. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Casey showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Casey lands with a slapping head kick. Mazyck connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Casey scores with a head kick.
Casey cracks Mazyck with a good jab. Mazyck darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Mazyck prevents Casey from standing back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mazyck slows the pace down in half guard. Mazyck wants to stand up but Casey has a hold of him and won't allow it. Mazyck stops Casey from getting back to his feet.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Casey can do anything to dispel that myth. Mazyck works his way into side control. Mazyck decides to stand up, so the ref orders Casey to his feet. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Mazyck feints and as Casey raises his hands in defense, Mazyck changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Casey is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Steve Mazyck overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Casey is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Mazyck passes Casey's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Casey is trying to stand back up but Mazyck is controlling him

That's four minutes gone in the round. Mazyck shoots for a takedown but Casey saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Mazyck misses with a series of wild punches.

Mazyck changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Casey looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Mazyck decides to stand back up. Mazyck steps back and let's Casey get back to his feet. Steve Mazyck has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! John Casey is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Casey works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Steve Mazyck. I think Casey has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
