PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hulk Hogan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Londo GKar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). GKar has chosen Shadow Gallery - With Honor as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hulk Hogan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Londo GKar!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Luis Engracia and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
GKar displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Hogan.

GKar shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Hogan is trying to defend but GKar finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

GKar seems to be working for a kimura but Hogan defends the submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
GKar prevents Hogan from standing back up.
GKar is trying to control. Hogan wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Hogan avoiding damage under a succession of punches from GKar.
Hogan tries to get to full guard but GKar has control of the leg.
GKar is looking to stall here but Hogan recovers full guard.
Hogan keeping moving, preventing GKar from controlling successfully.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hogan looking for a sweep. Not yet Hogan, not yet.
Hogan manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. GKar manages to get himself to full guard.
Hogan has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of GKar is proving hard to escape from.
Hogan pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. GKar is keeping the position for now.
GKar looking to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hogan slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Hulk Hogan.
Hogan swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
GKar throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
GKar throws a right hand that Hogan ducks under and follows up with a left that Hogan also avoids with ease.

Hogan drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
GKar regains half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hogan is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for GKar!
Hogan trying to control but he's not successful this time.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hogan is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because GKar is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Hogan tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
GKar is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
GKar is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Hogan can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as GKar is looking to escape.
Hogan controlling the pace for now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hogan has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

We're going to have a standup here because Hulk Hogan wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

GKar shoots in and gets a takedown into Hogan's guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
GKar loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
GKar trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Hulk Hogan will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Hogan rushes GKar and presses him up against the cage.
Hogan presses GKar against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Hogan lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Hogan tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Hogan lands a right hand that snaps the head of GKar backwards.
GKar is looking to break free of the clinch but Hogan has double underhooks.

GKar manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Hogan passes GKar's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Hogan controlling the action here.
GKar tries to get to full guard but Hogan has control of the leg.
Hogan works his way into full mount!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hogan controlling the position easily from mount.
GKar gets back to half guard.
GKar wants to get back to full guard.
Hogan tries to stand but can't do so whilst GKar controls his leg.
GKar tries to roll over but Hogan keeps him under control.
Hogan wants to stand up but GKar has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Hogan stands up from half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
GKar staying out of range there.

Hogan rushes GKar and presses him up against the cage.
Hogan can't find room to land a body shot as GKar controls the action.
Hogan lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

GKar pulls guard.
GKar avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hogan lands a couple of digs.
Hogan content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Hogan is pushing down on GKar's leg trying to pass to half guard. GKar is fighting to maintain full guard but Hogan has managed to sneak the leg through.
GKar is trying to get back to full guard.
Hogan tries to pass the half guard into mount. GKar knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hogan wants to stand up but GKar is controlling the position.
GKar avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Hogan.
GKar is refusing to be controlled, as Hogan sits in half guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
GKar tries to get to full guard but Hogan has control of the leg.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Hulk Hogan.
Jab, jab by GKar - just one landing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
GKar throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Hogan gets caught flat footed, as GKar shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
GKar wants to control from the top but Hogan keeps moving.
GKar trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
GKar won't allow Hogan to sweep him here.
GKar stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hogan swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
GKar showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
GKar tries to free his leg and advance position but Hogan is retaining full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hulk Hogan dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!



Hogan closes the distance and pushes GKar back into the cage.

GKar jumps guard and drags Hogan to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Hogan decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Hogan drops GKar with a straight left! Oh this is bad for GKar! Hogan dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:20 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Hulk Hogan!
