Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jackson Hawk! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nisse Hult! The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Dmitry Maklakov and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hult shoots in and drives through. Hawk sprawls well. Hawk drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Hawk drops back looking for a leg! Hult is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hult manages to kick Hawk off! Hawk jumps back into Hult's guard. Hult is striking off his back. Hawk thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard. Hawk slows the pace down in half guard. Hult wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hult has a hand on Hawk's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Hawk takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hawk dominating with strikes here. Hawk with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Hult is trying desperately to improve position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hult is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Hawk is landing with some decent strikes but Hult is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Hawk is working to isolate an arm here. It's a choreographed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Hawk extends the arm and Hult is forced to tap!
