Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gabriel Francisco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Coming Home. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gabriel Francisco !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jon Jones!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Jeff Smith and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Francisco .
Francisco fails with a takedown attempt.
Francisco closes the distance and clinches up with Jones, looking for a takedown. Francisco pushes Jones against the cage but Jones circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Francisco uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jones.
A telegraphed right hand from Jones misses the target.
Jones waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Francisco .
Francisco ducks under a wild hook from Jones.
Jones thows a left - swing and a miss!
Jones misses with a right hand

and Francisco decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Jones's guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Francisco throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jones works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Jones is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Francisco tries to free his leg and advance position but Jones is retaining full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Francisco throws a strike but Jones rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Jones got a little sloppy there for a moment and Francisco has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jones has managed to get both his arms back between Francisco 's legs - danger averted.
Jones passes into half guard.
Francisco is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Jones controlling the action here.
Jones wants to get back to his feet.
Francisco tries to get to full guard but Jones has control of the leg.
Francisco really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Francisco gets full guard.
Jones sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Jones trying to control but Francisco is working from the bottom.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jon Jones was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Jones throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Jones throws a jab but it's blocked by Francisco .
Jones throws a leg kick

and Francisco counters with a shoot takedown. Jones fights it but they end up in guard.

Francisco has gone for a leg lock! Jones slips out almost immediately though and dives into Francisco 's guard.
Francisco trying to keep a closed guard but Jones is proving a slippery customer.
Jones controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jones's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Jones really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Francisco . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Jones wants to get up but he can't break Francisco 's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Jones looking to pass the guard.

Jon Jones has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Francisco closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Francisco lands in his opponent's guard.
Jones wants to stand up but Francisco is controlling him.
Francisco trying to control but Jones is working from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jones is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Francisco drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Francisco as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Jones screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Francisco ! Nice submission victory there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Gabriel Francisco !
After the fight, Gabriel Francisco was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
