Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Roger Simms (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tenho Friman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Roger Simms! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tenho Friman! The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Patrick Alders and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A head kick misses from Friman. Simms scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Simms moves into the clinch. Friman is trying to drag Simms to the mat but Simms just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Friman tries to land knees in the clinch but Simms avoids the damage to the body. Simms breaks from the clinch.
Simms lands a jab. Friman gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Simms to score an easy takedown into full guard. Simms's corner is telling him to maintain position. Friman wants to stand up but Simms is controlling him. Friman trying to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Simms gets to his feet. Friman looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Friman with a lazy takedown attempt and Simms counters with a big head kick but Friman shrugs it off. Friman on the wrong end of a nice hook. Friman throws a head kick but Simms moves out of range.
Simms lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Simms. Simms instigates a clinch. Friman has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Simms after a bit of a struggle. Roger Simms has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tenho Friman. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Friman jumps guard.
Simms postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Friman wants to get back to his feet but Simms is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Friman keeping moving, preventing Simms from controlling successfully.

Friman is looking to stand up but Simms isn't so interested in that idea. Friman tries to land a sweep but no joy. Simms sitting in guard here, content to control. Simms has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Roger Simms wasn't doing enough on the ground. Friman changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Simms tries to avoid it but Friman manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Simms to the ground. Simms escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Simms scores with a jab to the body. Jab from Simms. Simms keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Friman closes this distance looking for a takedown but Simms circles away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Simms fails in his attempt to clinch. Friman throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Simms was covering up waiting for the punch and Friman finishes the takedown easily into guard. Simms keeping full guard, as Friman tries to pass. Friman trying to control the position from guard on top but Simms is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Simms is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Tenho Friman hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Simms scores with a takedown into Friman's guard. Friman wants to stand and escape but Simms is having none of it. Simms sitting in guard, not really doing much. Friman looking to control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Simms looking to control the position here, rather than advance. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

It looks like Tenho Friman has been cut. Simms is trying to trip Friman. He has hold of a leg but Friman is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Simms persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Friman working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Simms has passed into half guard!
Simms uses his free foot to push down on Friman's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Friman. Simms controlling from mount. Friman tries to hold on but Simms pushes him away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Friman tries to buck Simms off but he can't manage it. Friman really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Simms knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Friman on the ground. Friman tries to hold on but Simms postures up. Friman is squirming around, avoiding Simms's attempts to control the action. Simms tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Simms's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Friman tries to hold on but Simms postures up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Simms moves in looking to clinch but Friman pushes him off. The fight stays on the outside here - Friman looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Friman throws a lazy body kick and Simms counters with a three punch combo that has Friman backing up. Friman nods at Simms to acknowledge the strikes. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Simms gets a takedown into half guard. Simms stalling.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Friman pushes Simms off looking to stand but Simms dives back in and keeps control.
Friman has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Simms is working away from the top position though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Simms prevents Friman from improving his position. Simms is looking to stall here but Friman recovers full guard. Friman trying to keep a closed guard but Simms is proving a slippery customer.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Friman wants to stand up but Simms is controlling him. Roger Simms overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Simms trying to control the position from guard on top but Friman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Friman wants to stand up but Simms is controlling him.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Simms fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Simms throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Friman has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Simms finds it's way round the side to connect with Friman's head. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Friman gets tackled into the cage by Simms. Simms maintains the clinch. Simms tries to land a knee to the head but Friman blocks with his arms.
Come on Friman - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Friman shoots in but no luck this time. Roger Simms seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Simms lands with a nice combination. Friman backs away looking to recover. Simms trying to control but he's not successful this time. Simms tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Friman tries to hold on but Simms postures up. Simms prevents Friman from getting the reversal. Friman regains half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Friman wants to control but Simms is keeping busy and won't allow it.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Friman walks into a stiff left hand from Simms. Simms is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Friman shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Simms sprawls well. Simms wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Friman gets slowly back to his feet. Simms goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Friman takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Friman throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Simms sees it coming and avoids it easily. Friman misses with a head kick.
Friman tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Simms manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Friman shoots for a takedown but Simms saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Friman misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Simms gets in close and instigates a clinch. Friman is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Simms pulls him back up using the underhooks.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Friman has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Simms looking to slow down the pace here. A knee to the head by Simms.

Simms passes to full mount! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Simms takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
And that's the end of the fight! Roger Simms showed his dominance in that final round. Well Simms has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
