PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jose Calderon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Henry Six (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jose Calderon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Henry Six!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Thiago Cunha and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Calderon throws a right and a left that Six avoids nicely.
Calderon misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Six shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Calderon manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Six stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Calderon swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
It looks like Six might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Six misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Six is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Calderon will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Some bone on bone action there as Calderon checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Calderon feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Six's calf.

Henry Six showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well Six has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A less than humble Henry Six misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
