Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matt Tamone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Odin Hawkeye (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Matt Tamone has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Matt Tamone!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Odin Hawkeye!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Skip Squint and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tamone fails to land the takedown.
Tamone defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Hawkeye.
Tamone could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Tamone dives in and scores a takedown into Hawkeye's guard.
Tamone has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Hawkeye manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Tamone manages to get himself to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hawkeye stands up from Tamone's guard - Hawkeye perhaps looking for a knockout.
Hawkeye throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Tamone's waist but Tamone gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hawkeye off to one side.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Hawkeye has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Tamone after a bit of a struggle.

Hawkeye tries to pull guard but Tamone won't allow it.

Tamone seems a little flustered. He's come in with the intention of controlling the clinch but Hawkeye is preventing him from doing so, at least for the moment.
Hawkeye tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Tamone smiles and moves away.
Tamone dodges the punch combination from Hawkeye.

and Hawkeye moves into the clinch.
Tamone is trying to break the clinch but Hawkeye has him pressed against the cage.

Hawkeye closes this distance looking for a takedown but Tamone circles away.

and Hawkeye counters by clinching up.
Tamone lands a left hand.
Tamone wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Hawkeye has him pressed against the cage.

Hawkeye blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Tamone is trying to maintain a safe position but Hawkeye gets an underhook and turns Tamone into the cage.
Hawkeye is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Tamone gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Hawkeye is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Hawkeye has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hawkeye works on Tamone's body with a couple of short punches.
Tamone is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Hawkeye is keeping busy.

Hawkeye pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Hawkeye looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Hawkeye keeps the fight on the outside.
Tamone is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hawkeye shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Tamone defends it nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hawkeye displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Tamone.
Hawkeye tries to score a power double leg takedown but Tamone sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hawkeye somewhat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hawkeye is trying hard to land a takedown here. Tamone sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Hawkeye lands with a light punch inside.


It looks like Matt Tamone has been cut.
Tamone is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Hawkeye jumps guard and drags Tamone to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Tamone has gone for a leg lock! Hawkeye slips out almost immediately though and dives into Tamone's guard.
Hawkeye is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Tamone shoots in looking for a takedown but Hawkeye manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Tamone's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Tamone tries a knee to the head but Hawkeye blocks it.
Hawkeye throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Hawkeye is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Tamone to keep the fight standing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Hawkeye ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Hawkeye no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Tamone is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Hawkeye has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Tamone is looking to defend but Hawkeye has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Tamone! Hawkeye pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Tamone taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Odin Hawkeye!
During a confident post fight interview, Odin Hawkeye thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
