The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jamielson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Jamielson is looking to clinch.
Nice straight punches there by Gavin. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Gavin.
Jamielson misses with a takedown
and Gavin counters with a straight right hand.
Jamielson walks into a stiff left hand from Gavin.
Jamielson doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Gavin counters with a right hand to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gavin scores with a punch to the head.
Jamielson throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Gavin throws out a loose jab but Jamielson uses good head movement to avoid it.
Gavin swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Jamielson is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Tommy Gavin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Gavin fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Jamielson to the ground. Gavin is now in Jamielson's guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Gavin tries to free his leg and advance position but Jamielson is retaining full guard.

Gavin breaks from Jamielson's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Gavin postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Jamielson looks a forlorn figure.
