0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Bernard Matthews! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, William Gold and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Matthews closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Matthews lands in his opponent's guard. Chalmers looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Matthews showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Matthews stands up from Chalmers's guard - Matthews perhaps looking for a knockout. Matthews shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Matthews engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Matthews works a leg free and moves into half guard. Matthews perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. This has been an exciting period of action! Matthews's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Matthews thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
That's one minute gone in the round. Matthews seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Matthews throwing shots but Chalmers is blocking nicely. Matthews controlling the action here. Matthews has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Bernard Matthews was stalling too much, according to the referee. Matthews fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Chalmers sprawls well initially but Matthews persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Chalmers might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Matthews missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Chalmers really is a fat lump. Chalmers scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Matthews manages to mount him!

That's two minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Matthews controlling from mount. Matthews is standing up, even though he is in mount. Matthews looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Matthews forces Chalmers back against the cage and clinches. Matthews can't get the takedown.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Matthews takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Matthews tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Chalmers smiles and moves away.
Chalmers gets caught napping as Matthews dives in and scores a takedown. Chalmers manages to retain guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Matthews seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Chalmers knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Matthews on the ground. Matthews passes into half guard. Matthews works his foot free and advances to mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Matthews sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Matthews sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Matthews is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Chalmers is surviving well by controlling Matthews's body position as best he can. Matthews takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. This has been an exciting period of action! Matthews with good strikes from the mount here! Matthews tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Chalmers avoids a series of strikes thrown by Matthews.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Matthews unloads with some shots from mount but Chalmers bucks and avoids them well.

Chalmers is rocked! Matthews looking to ground and pound but Chalmers is blocking nicely. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bernard Matthews dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Matthews bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Oh Chalmers is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Matthews in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Chalmers looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Matthews turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!
