Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Anzor Greene!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Scott Roper!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Roper. No joy for Greene on that attempt.
Roper looks to score with a jab to the body but Greene is just out of range.
Greene keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Greene shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Roper defends it nicely.
Roper fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Scott Roper seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Roper lands with a nice combination. Greene backs away looking to recover.
Roper throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Greene counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Roper is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Greene postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Greene is working Roper over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Greene stops Roper from standing up.
Roper utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Greene wants to stand and escape but instead Roper has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Greene is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Greene tries to strike from the bottom.
Greene knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Roper on the ground.

Greene is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Roper is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Greene pulls Roper in to control the position.
Roper trying to control the position from guard on top but Greene is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Roper would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Anzor Greene wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Greene scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Roper doesn't seem bothered though.
Roper looks gassed!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Greene shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Roper eats them both and turns towards Greene to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Greene.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anzor Greene. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Roper throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Greene fails to land the takedown.
Roper missing with a left hand there. Greene was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Greene shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Roper napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Greene throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Greene looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Roper is avoiding damage well.
Greene landing strikes.
Greene throws an elbow but Roper slips to the side and avoids it well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Roper wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Greene throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Roper works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
Roper is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Greene scores with a couple of nice shots.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Greene lands a nice short elbow.
Roper is trying to stand.
Greene winds up and cracks Roper with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Greene gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
No joy there for Roper, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Greene is pawing at Roper, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Roper's nose. Roper is badly hurt! Greene pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Roper tries desperately to hold on but Greene is relentless in his assault! As Roper receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Greene away and this one is in the books!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:06 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Anzor Greene!
