Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Hemingway!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gob Kale!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Anthony Taglia and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hemingway shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Hemingway slips a nice elbow through Kale's hands, connecting with Kale's forehead.
Hemingway is taking a breather. Kale says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Kale on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Hemingway is controlling the pace.
Kale wants to get back to his feet.
Kale is trying to control but can't.

Hemingway is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kale doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Hemingway.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hemingway working the head and body with strikes.


It looks like Gob Kale has been cut.
Hemingway has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hemingway tries to pass to full mount but Kale defends it.
Hemingway winds up and cracks Kale with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Hemingway is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Kale wants to get back to his feet.
Hemingway takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Hemingway lands a nice short elbow.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kale won't allow Hemingway to pass to mount.

Hemingway seems to be working for a kimura but Kale defends the submission attempt.
Hemingway winds up and cracks Kale with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Hemingway decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Hemingway gets a takedown into half guard.
Hemingway is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Kale!
Hemingway lands a nice shot to the head.
Hemingway looking to finish Kale with some ground and pound. This is bad for Kale!
Hemingway with shots to the head and body - Kale looks very uncomfortable down there.

Hemingway is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Hemingway extends the arm and Kale is forced to tap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). James Hemingway!
James Hemingway was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
