Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nick Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Saifullah Gaziev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diaz's entrance music is Shyne. A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
22 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Nick Diaz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Saifullah Gaziev! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Aleksandr Martynov and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gaziev misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Diaz drives through and clinches with Gaziev against the cage.
Diaz digs a right hand underneath Gaziev's ribcage. Gaziev let out a lung full of air as it connected. Gaziev jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Diaz walks away with a smile on his face. Gaziev gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Diaz lands with a nice body punch. Gaziev misses with a straight left. Diaz wants to clinch. Diaz tries to clinch there but Gaziev circles away.
Diaz closes the distance and pushes Gaziev back into the cage. A bit of stalling here from Diaz.
Gaziev fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Diaz misses with a hook to the ribs.
Diaz lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Gaziev or not.
That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Diaz leaves Gaziev with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Nick Diaz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Saifullah Gaziev. Gaziev throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Diaz's waist but Diaz gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gaziev off to one side. Diaz fakes the leg kick and cracks Gaziev in the body. Diaz displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Gaziev. Diaz clinches. Diaz lands a good knee to the midsection. Gaziev won't want to take too many of those. Gaziev tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Diaz just stands there and leans against the cage. Diaz misses with a punch to the body.
Diaz breaks from the clinch.
Diaz moves into the clinch. Diaz gets through Gaziev's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gaziev tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

This has been an exciting period of action! Gaziev is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Diaz to keep the fight standing. Gaziev looks gassed! A right handed body shot lands from Diaz.
Gaziev jumps guard but Diaz stands there with Gaziev around his waist. Gaziev gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Gaziev tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Diaz lands a right hand that snaps the head of Gaziev backwards. Diaz is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Diaz lands with a light punch inside.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gaziev being controlled against the cage. Diaz throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Gazievs head.
It looks like Saifullah Gaziev has been cut. Diaz scores with a knee to the head.
Diaz scores with an uppercut up the middle. Diaz slowing the pace effectively. Diaz scores with an uppercut up the middle. Diaz goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Diaz digs a right hand underneath Gaziev's ribcage. Gaziev let out a lung full of air as it connected. Diaz working some nice short punches in the clinch. Diaz crunches a lovely knee into Gaziev's ribcage. Nice body punch from Diaz - that landed with a thud.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A quick uppercut on the inside from Diaz. Diaz stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. A quick uppercut on the inside from Diaz. Gaziev is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Diaz to keep the fight standing. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Diaz lands with a right to the head. Diaz lands a damaging elbow.
Gaziev is rocked! Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Diaz. Gaziev is still on wobbly legs! Can Diaz finish him? Gaziev tries to pull guard but Diaz holds him up against the cage and eventually Gaziev drops back down to his feet.
Gaziev seems to have recovered his senses. Diaz misses with a punch to the body.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Diaz lands an uppercut. Diaz lands a body shot in the clinch.
Gaziev tries to pull guard but Diaz forces him back to his feet, against the cage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nick Diaz dominated that round. The cut man is working on Saifullah Gaziev's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Diaz clinches up with Gaziev and pushes him back against the cage. Diaz lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Gaziev. Diaz is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Gaziev blocks a body shot from Diaz. Diaz lands with a left to the head. Gaziev fails to pull guard.
Diaz lands a nice elbow. Diaz works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
The referee calls for Diaz to work.
Diaz lands a hook that snaps the head of Gaziev backwards.
That has opened up Saifullah Gaziev's cut even more.
That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz is pushing Gaziev up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Gaziev pulls guard effortlessly. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Diaz content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Gaziev wants to get back to his feet but Diaz is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Gaziev keeping full guard, as Diaz tries to pass. Gaziev working a defensive guard here.
Diaz is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gaziev keeping moving, preventing Diaz from controlling successfully. Gaziev controls Diaz momentarily but Diaz frees himself.
Nick Diaz has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Diaz lands with a nice body punch. Diaz fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Gaziev, pushing him back against the cage. Diaz pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Diaz closes the distance but Gaziev moves to the side enabling Gaziev to counter with a crisp jab. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Nice jab there from Diaz. Gaziev closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Diaz tries to clinch up. Diaz lands with a good body shot. Gaziev circles away from the clinch attempt.
Diaz takes a swing at Gaziev's ribcage but misses. Gaziev lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Diaz circles away quickly and effectively. Diaz lands with a shot to the body. Gaziev is breathing heavily. A shot to the liver by Diaz. Beautiful body shot. Nick Diaz is winning the standup battle so far. Diaz gets a clinch. Gaziev tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Diaz just stands there and leans against the cage. Diaz struggles to land a body shot inside as Gaziev controls his hands.
Gaziev's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
The cut above Saifullah Gaziev's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Diaz gets through Gaziev's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Diaz lands an uppercut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Diaz will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Gaziev up against the cage. Diaz breaks from the clinch.
Gaziev looks up at the clock. Bad move! Diaz lands a right hand from hell, dropping Gaziev. Diaz pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:41 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nick Diaz!
