Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rocky Granite (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Arkley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Granite comes to the cage accompanied by Brokencyde - Get Crunk. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rocky Granite! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Arkley! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Columbo Gatti and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Arkley slaps away a takedown attempt from Granite, before circling back to the center of the mat. Granite shoots in looking for a takedown but Arkley manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Granite's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Arkley gets caught flat footed, as Granite shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Granite sitting in guard here, content to control. Granite trying to control the position from guard on top but Arkley is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Arkley lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Granite! Arkley tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Granite is looking to improve his position but Arkley isn't that keen on the idea. Granite wants to control but Arkley is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Granite manages to control the position for a moment. Arkley prevents Granite from getting the reversal. Granite wants to hold on but Arkley pushes him away. Granite is wriggling around trying to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Granite bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Arkley is not content to let Granite control the position. Granite working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Granite in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Granite sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Arkley is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Granite is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Arkley knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Arkley is trying to work for a sweep but Granite has mounted him! Granite is stalling here but it's allowed Arkley to get half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Granite is pressing down on Arkley's thigh, looking to free his foot. Arkley is holding on for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rocky Granite dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Granite checks a leg kick. Arkley misses with a body kick. Arkley digs a good body shot into Granite's ribs. Arkley looks to throw the jab but Granite is out of range. Arkley misses with a lunging right hand
and Granite counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Granite landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Granite is looking to take a break and control but Arkley is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Granite looks to score some points with some ground and pound. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Arkley keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Granite is stalling here. Arkley is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Granite seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Arkley has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Granite isn't going anywhere.
That's one minute gone in the round. Granite tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Arkley wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Granite prevents Arkley from improving position. A lull in the action here. Arkley working away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Arkley has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Excellent takedown into side control there by Granite. Granite scores with a couple of short elbows. Arkley sneaks back into half guard. Granite trying to pass the guard but Arkley defending well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Granite is taking a breather. Arkley says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Arkley moves into full guard.
Arkley trying to control the position here. Arkley keeping moving, preventing Granite from controlling successfully. Arkley looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Granite advances position into side control! Granite controlling the position. Granite throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Arkley works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Arkley keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rocky Granite dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Granite is looking to clinch. Arkley jabs Granite to the body, keeping him at a distance. Granite closes the distance and lands a one-two. Granite shoots in for a double leg but Arkley sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Granite moves out of range as Arkley strikes. Granite fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Granite checks a low kick from Arkley. Arkley lands with a nice combination. Granite backs away looking to recover.
It looks like Rocky Granite has been cut. A big right from Arkley misses. Granite tries for a takedown but Arkley circles away easily and Arkley counters with a low kick, right behind Granite 's knee. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rocky Granite. That's going to take a lot out of him. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Granite defending well as Arkley loads up on a big left hand. Arkley fails to land with a series of punches.
Granite moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Granite is defended easily by Arkley. Granite closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
That's one minute gone in the round. Granite lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Arkley down.
Granite is trying to move to mount but Arkley reverses beautifully and ends up in Granite's guard. Granite is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Granite seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Arkley does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Granite not landing any meaningful shots this time. James Arkley has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Arkley won't allow Granite to pass to mount. Granite throwing shots but Arkley is blocking nicely. Arkley wants to improve his position but Granite is controlling well.
Granite keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Granite is looking to stall here but Arkley recovers full guard. Arkley utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Arkley wants to stand up but Granite is controlling him. Granite wants to pass the guard but Arkley is keeping the position. Granite postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Arkley preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Granite stands up over Arkley, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Granite scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Granite is looking to work some ground and pound but Arkley has wrist control. Arkley keeping moving, preventing Granite from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Granite wants to pass the guard but Arkley is keeping the position. Granite trying to control but Arkley is working from the bottom. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Rocky Granite wasn't doing enough on the ground. Granite misses with a low kick.
Arkley misses with a head kick.
Rocky Granite seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Granite will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
And that's the end of the fight! Rocky Granite showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Granite, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
