The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lunder fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Lunder fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Lunder misses with a takedown attempt - McCarthy sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Lunder. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lunder showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from McCarthy.
McCarthy misses with a head kick.
Lunder fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
McCarthy goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Lunder shoots in looking for a takedown. McCarthy tries to sprawl out of it but Lunder keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. McCarthy manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

McCarthy throws a head kick but Lunder moves out of range.
McCarthy pulls out of a head kick attempt.
No joy there for McCarthy, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Lunder really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
McCarthy connects with a looping right hand.

Lunder fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Lunder is breathing heavily.
McCarthy stuffs the takedown attempt from Lunder. Lunder gets slowly back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Nice uppercut lands for McCarthy. That snapped Lunder's head back.
McCarthy leaves Lunder with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
McCarthy will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
McCarthy stuffs the takedown attempt from Lunder. Lunder gets slowly back to his feet.
McCarthy scores with a head kick. Lunder tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
McCarthy throws a powerful right kick. Lunder tried to block low but the kick was high! Lunder was taken right off of his feet! McCarthy jumps in to finish the job and the ref tackles him! The fight is over!

Ryan McCarthy was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
