These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Urijah Calaway!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tony Douglas!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Josh West and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Douglas tries to clinch up
and Douglas takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.


It looks like Tony Douglas has been cut.
Douglas tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Calaway paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Calaway lets loose with a powerful body kick. Douglas will feel that in the morning.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The fight stays on the outside here - Douglas looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Calaway gets a double leg takedown into Douglas's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Douglas wants to stand but Calaway is controlling the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Urijah Calaway.

Calaway pushes Douglas up against the cage in a clinch.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Calaway creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Calaway lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

That has opened up Tony Douglas's cut even more.
Calaway pushes Douglas against the cage. Calaway is working some dirty boxing. Calaway pushes off with a quick right hook! Douglas goes down! Douglas tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Calaway moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Urijah Calaway!
A relieved looking Urijah Calaway thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
