Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between shinshi uno (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcel Mercier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think uno might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Aqui a tristeza pula de alegria. Mercier has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! Marcel Mercier has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with shinshi uno's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, shinshi uno!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marcel Mercier!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Wesley Smith and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mercier blocks a head kick by uno.
Mercier takes the fight into the clinch.
Mercier looks gassed!
Mercier keeps control of uno as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Mercier.
uno can't get the takedown.
uno is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Mercier gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
uno drops down looking for an ankle pick but Mercier pulls his leg out and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for shinshi uno. That's going to take a lot out of him.
No luck for uno with that takedown attempt.
uno shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mercier as he jumps to the side.
uno shoots in and drives through. Mercier sprawls well.
Mercier tries to close the distance and clinch up but uno swats him away and circles back towards the center.
A good leg kick by Mercier.
uno avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
uno misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
uno tries to keep at a distance but Mercier has taken the fight into the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round.
uno goes for a takedown in the clinch but Mercier prevents it.
A nice right hand lands inside from Mercier.
with the fighters clinched against the cage, Mercier creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Mercier avoids a kick to the body.
uno fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
uno shoots for a double leg takedown but Mercier sprawls well. He's pushed uno's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Mercier wants to clinch up but uno keeps it at a distance.
uno changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mercier tries to avoid it but uno manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mercier to the ground. Mercier escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
uno fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
uno misses with a takedown attempt - Mercier sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Mercier.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mercier misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
uno tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
uno manages to get back to half guard.
uno is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
uno looking for submissions off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
uno tries to roll over but Mercier keeps him under control.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
uno slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
uno has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Mercier doesn't defend quickly enough and uno has managed to lock this one up! Can Mercier escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to uno on a fantastic submission victory.
