Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Johnny Johnson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Wszebor Swiatlovod! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Shirou Masuda and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson closes the distance but Swiatlovod moves to the side and Swiatlovod counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Swiatlovod is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Johnson can't fight it off and eventually Swiatlovod manages to take the fight to the floor. Johnson looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Johnson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Johnson looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Swiatlovod controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Swiatlovod trying to control but Johnson is working from the bottom. Swiatlovod controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Wszebor Swiatlovod has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Swiatlovod jabs Johnson to the body, keeping him at a distance. Swiatlovod clinches with his opponent.
Swiatlovod is pressed up against the cage. Johnson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Swiatlovod down to the mat. Swiatlovod avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Johnson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Swiatlovod changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Johnson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
That's one minute gone in the round. Swiatlovod is looking to take a break and control but Johnson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Swiatlovod lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Johnson down.
Johnson looking for a sweep but Swiatlovod has passed into full mount! Oh no! Johnson is in a horrible position here. Swiatlovod smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Swiatlovod cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Johnson tries to get back to half guard but can't. Swiatlovod punishing his opponent with strikes. Swiatlovod lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Johnson is rocked! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Johnson wants to control but Swiatlovod is having none of it. Oh Johnson is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Johnson takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Swiatlovod's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
