Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Brian Shanks! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Gustavo Fring! The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Atkins and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shanks clinches up with Fring and pushes him back against the cage. Fring is working for takedown but Shanks is calmly controlling the position for now. Fring is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Shanks pulls him back up using the underhooks. Shanks gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Fring throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Fring keeping full guard, as Shanks tries to pass. Fring is looking for a triangle here but Shanks uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
This has been an exciting period of action! Fring wants to control but Shanks postures up. Fring tries to improve position but can't. Fring is being controlled here. Fring tries to bench press Shanks off him but Shanks keeps the position. Fring is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fring tries to strike from the bottom but misses. Fring sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Fring makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Fring. Shanks knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Fring on the ground. Fring wants to stand and escape but Shanks is having none of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fring has his foot on Shanks's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Shanks works his way back into a safe position though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fring is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Fring is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Fring looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Shanks is defending well. Fring quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Shanks has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Fring celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
