Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Japan Fighter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Owen Wash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Owen Wash has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Japan Fighter's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Japan Fighter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Owen Wash! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Sosuke Kotani and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fighter defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Wash. No luck for Wash with that takedown attempt. Wash tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Fighter fails with a takedown attempt. Fighter takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Wash misses with a takedown so Fighter counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Japan Fighter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Owen Wash. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Fighter is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Fighter has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Wash doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wash utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Fighter slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Fighter seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Wash for as long as he can get away with.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Japan Fighter. Wash doesn't manage to clinch there - Fighter circles away.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Wash is trying to escape the position but Fighter is controlling the position. Fighter tries to move into full mount but can't pass Wash's legs. Wash is trying to control Fighter's posture but Fighter avoids it. Fighter taking a breather here. Wash prevents Fighter from improving position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wash tries to improve position but can't. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Wash is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Wash is trying to escape the position but Fighter is controlling the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Fighter takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Wash shoots in looking for a takedown. Fighter tries to sprawl out of it but Wash keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Fighter manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Fighter stuffs the takedown. Wash shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Fighter but Fighter pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fighter gets a takedown into half guard. Wash is looking to improve his position.
Fighter controlling the pace. Fighter wants to pass to mount but Wash is defending the position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. The fighters are battling for position here. Wash manages to regain full guard. Nice work. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wash tries to close the distance and clinch up but Fighter swats him away and circles back towards the center. Wash shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Fighter but Fighter pushes him off and we're back to square one. Fighter avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Wash fails with a takedown attempt. Wash slaps away a takedown attempt from Fighter, before circling back to the center of the mat. Wash gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Fighter to score an easy takedown into full guard. Fighter works over Wash with some ground and pound from guard. Japan Fighter overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Fighter is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fighter in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Fighter missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Fighter throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Fighter slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Japan Fighter just wasn't active enough. Fighter takes a shot right to the bread basket.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fight stays on the outside here - Wash looks like he's thinking about clinching though. A combination from Wash does no damage. Wash shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Fighter counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Japan Fighter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Owen Wash. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Fighter stalling.

Fighter knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Wash on the ground. Fighter perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not.
