Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steve Cantrell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tone Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Steve Cantrell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tone Black! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Columbo Gatti and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cantrell circles away from the clinch attempt.
Black moves into range and clinches up with Cantrell. The referee is keeping an eye on Black - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Cantrell managing to block the knees to the body from Black.
Cantrell tries to work over Black's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Black wants the takedown. Cantrell is fighting it off but Black persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Cantrell's guard against the cage. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Black in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Black trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Black postures up in Cantrell's guard and throws a big left but Cantrell blocks it. Black got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cantrell has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Black has managed to get both his arms back between Cantrell's legs - danger averted. Black must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Cantrell thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Cantrell has his foot on Black's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Black works his way back into a safe position though. Cantrell is trying to keep Black in close.
Black really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cantrell. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cantrell has his foot on Black's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Black works his way back into a safe position though. Black is looking to work some ground and pound but Cantrell has wrist control. Cantrell lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Black! Black is working to get back to half guard.
Cantrell content just to control the position here. Black tries to lock up and control but Cantrell gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Black is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Cantrell has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Black tries to escape but Cantrell has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Cantrell is working hard for the rear naked choke here.

Cantrell tightening his grip on Black, looking for the choke. You can see the frustration on Black's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Cantrell lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Cantrell.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Cantrell trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Black covers up after that shot from Cantrell.
Black wants to escape the position.
Cantrell somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back. Cantrell tries to get the hooks in deep but Black pushed the leg off. Good control from Cantrell. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Black looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Steve Cantrell dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Black wants to clinch up but Cantrell keeps it at a distance. Cantrell fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Cantrell tries to keep at a distance but Black has taken the fight into the clinch. Black has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Cantrell regains guard immediately. Cantrell working for a triangle but Black defends it easily.
Cantrell looking to hit a scissor sweep but Black is one step ahead there. Cantrell utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Cantrell looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Black with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Black is looking to work some ground and pound but Cantrell has wrist control. Black won't allow Cantrell to get back to his feet. Cantrell avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Black loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Cantrell will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Cantrell is on top in guard.
Cantrell stopping the sweep attempt from Black. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Black can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cantrell wants to control from the top but Black keeps moving. Black controls Cantrell momentarily but Cantrell frees himself. Black is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Black wants to stand but Cantrell is controlling the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Steve Cantrell just wasn't active enough. Black avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Cantrell defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Black. Cantrell is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Black is looking to clinch. Steve Cantrell is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Cantrell fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Black shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Cantrell sprawls well. Cantrell wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Black gets slowly back to his feet. Black is breathing heavily. Black misses with a left hand and Cantrell counters with a stiff right hand. A head kick misses from Cantrell.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cantrell instigates a clinch. Cantrell tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Black just stands there and leans against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Steve Cantrell. That's going to take a lot out of him. Cantrell tries to pull guard but Black forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Cantrell drops down looking for an ankle pick but Black pulls his leg out and moves away.
Black instigates a clinch. Black has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Black pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Cantrell shoots in looking for a takedown but Black manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Cantrell's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Cantrell has managed to clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Tone Black will probably get the nod - 10:9. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!

Black is trying to trip Cantrell. He has hold of a leg but Cantrell is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Black persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Black loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Cantrell has his feet on Black's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Cantrell fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. No luck for Black with that takedown attempt. Black takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Black tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Cantrell misses with a low kick. Black fails in his attempt to clinch. Black shoots in and bounces Cantrell off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Cantrell is trying to control the position but Black postures up. Cantrell lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Black! Cantrell throwing strikes here but Black is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cantrell raining down shots from the mount! Cantrell prevents Black from getting the reversal. Black is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Cantrell controlling the pace for now. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Cantrell throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Black is in all sorts of trouble here.
Cantrell has control of Black's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Black regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Cantrell connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Cantrell lands a nice shot to the head. Cantrell controlling from mount. Black avoids a series of strikes thrown by Cantrell.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cantrell controlling his opponent. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Cantrell trying to control but he's not successful this time.
And that's the end of the fight! Steve Cantrell showed his dominance in that final round. I think Cantrell has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
