The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kivikorva feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Kivikorva won't allow Gaylord to get back to his feet.
Kivikorva trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Gaylord manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Kivikorva is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Kivikorva seems to be looking for submissions.
Gaylord moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Kivikorva is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Gaylord trying to keep a closed guard but Kivikorva is proving a slippery customer.
Kivikorva passes Gaylord's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Kivikorva wants to work for an arm triangle but Gaylord is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Gaylord is trying to control but can't.
Kivikorva drops an elbow to the side of Gaylord's head.
Kivikorva is breathing heavily.
Gaylord is trying to stand.
Gaylord is looking to improve his position.
Kivikorva wants to pass the guard but Gaylord is defending well.
Gaylord looks like he's trying to stand up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Kivikorva gets the takedown into side control.

Kivikorva is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Gaylord is trying to escape and Kivikorva transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Gaylord is forced to tap! Nice work there by Kivikorva! Very nice indeed!
