Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Daniel Klay!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Stephan Bonner!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yukihiro Shimada and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Klay tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bonner sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Klay somewhat.
Bonner looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Bonner bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Klay's head backwards.
Klay pulls out of a head kick attempt.

and Bonner counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Klay is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Klay tries to stand and escape but Bonner is controlling the position.

Klay throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Bonner was covering up waiting for the punch and Klay finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Klay wants to get up but he can't break Bonner's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Klay decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Bonner keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Daniel Klay seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Klay shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bonner pinned against the cage. Bonner gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bonner's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Bonner duly obliges.

Bonner manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Klay on his heels. He'll look to pass Klay's guard now, I'm sure.
