Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kiko Kaluma! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
20 - 32 - 1, fighting out of London, Bert Ernie! The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Andrew Berry and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ernie scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Ernie is working for a submission of some sort.
Ernie is trying to control the action in half guard but Kaluma is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Kaluma tries to get to full guard but Ernie has control of the leg. Ernie is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Kaluma! Ernie looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Ernie works his way to his opponent's back.
Kaluma is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Ernie is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Kaluma defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. This has been an exciting period of action! We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Kaluma tries to get out of the position. Ernie looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Ernie is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Kaluma is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Ernie creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Wooooo! Ernie drops back looking for a leg! Kaluma is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kaluma manages to kick Ernie off! Ernie jumps back into Kaluma's guard. Ernie advances position into side control!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ernie working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Ernie working the ground and pound. Kaluma misses with an elbow from the bottom. Ernie tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Ernie has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Ernie thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kaluma manages to work his way to half guard, despite Ernie's best efforts. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kaluma flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Bert Ernie dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Ernie shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kaluma as he jumps to the side. Kaluma takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Kiko Kaluma is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. No luck for Kaluma with that takedown attempt. Kaluma looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ernie is fending him off so far but Kaluma persists. Nope, Ernie circles away and we're back to standing. Kaluma shoots in but Ernie avoids the takedown attempt easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kiko Kaluma. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ernie looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Ernie fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Kaluma has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Ernie gets the takedown into side control. Kaluma is looking to regain half guard here but Ernie keeps moving and retains side control. Ernie stands up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ernie shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kaluma but Kaluma pushes him off and we're back to square one. Kaluma fails with a takedown attempt. Ernie shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kaluma as he avoids it easily. Ernie looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kaluma is fending him off so far but Ernie persists. Nope, Kaluma circles away and we're back to standing. Ernie throws a looping overhand right but Kaluma ducks down to avoid it. No luck with that takedown attempt from Ernie. Ernie has a takedown stuffed. Bert Ernie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kaluma fails to land the takedown.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kaluma tries for a takedown but Ernie sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Ernie fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Kaluma fails to land with a series of punches.
Ernie closes the distance and pushes Kaluma back into the cage. Kaluma missing with knees to the body.

Kaluma really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Ernie is looking for a takedown. Kaluma is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. Kaluma breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Bert Ernie has got the better of the ground game so far. Kaluma is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Ernie knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Kaluma lands some shots froms side control. Ernie manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Ernie is working for a kimura but Kaluma is defending it quite comfortably.

Ernie is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Kaluma has managed to free his arm - good work. Kaluma wants to improve his position but Ernie is controlling well.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ernie trying to control the action but Kaluma is working from the bottom. Ernie uses his free foot to push down on Kaluma's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Kaluma. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Bert Ernie will probably get the nod - 10:9. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Kaluma stuffs the takedown attempt from Ernie. Ernie gets slowly back to his feet. Ernie is trying hard to land a takedown here. Kaluma sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. No luck with that takedown attempt from Ernie. Kiko Kaluma has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bert Ernie. Kaluma wants to clinch up but Ernie keeps it at a distance. Ernie closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kaluma circles away. Ernie fails to land the takedown. Kaluma darts in and clinches Ernie up against the cage. Kaluma is trying to push Ernie away but Ernie has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Ernie goes for a takedown attempt but Kaluma pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Ernie gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ernie takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Kaluma works over Ernie with some ground and pound from guard. Ernie utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Kaluma prevents Ernie from getting back to his feet. Kaluma avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Kaluma has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Kaluma missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Kaluma throws a big elbow that misses. Kaluma putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Ernie taking shots to the head. Kaluma will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Kaluma is landing with some decent strikes but Ernie is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Kaluma landing punches. Bert Ernie is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Ernie tries to reverse the position but Kaluma maintains control.
And that's the end of the fight! Kiko Kaluma showed his dominance in that final round. I think Ernie has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
