Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jack Machin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Mickey Arroyo! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Daniel Bishop and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Machin fails to land the takedown. Machin dives in and scores a takedown into Arroyo's guard. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Machin postures up in Arroyo's guard and throws a big left but Arroyo blocks it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Machin scoring with punches to the head and body. Machin thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Arroyo keeping moving, preventing Machin from controlling successfully. Machin loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Machin passes easily into side control. Nice work. Machin working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Arroyo can do anything to dispel that myth. Machin throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Arroyo wants to get back to his feet but Machin drags him back down. Machin goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Arroyo has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Machin but great work by Arroyo. Arroyo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Machin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Arroyo working away. Machin gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Machin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Machin has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Arroyo is working away from the top position though. Machin wants to get back to full guard but Arroyo has passed into side control. Arroyo tries to stand but Machin is controlling his head. A lull in the action here as Arroyo stalls from top position. Machin manages to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Arroyo wants to get back to his feet.

Machin moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Machin manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Arroyo defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Machin.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Arroyo prevents Machin from taking his back. Arroyo blocking the ground and pound. Machin with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Machin swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
