Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Timur Rudov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 39 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Goran Schwarzeneg! The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Viktor Lagutenko and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schwarzeneg misses the jab. Rudov closes the distance and clinches up with Schwarzeneg, looking for a takedown. Rudov pushes Schwarzeneg against the cage but Schwarzeneg circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Rudov misses with a takedown attempt - Schwarzeneg sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Schwarzeneg closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Rudov is looking for a sweep. Schwarzeneg creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Rudov is trying to improve his position. Rudov manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Schwarzeneg avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Rudov. Schwarzeneg blocking the ground and pound attempt from Rudov. Schwarzeneg is staying active underneath Rudov, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Rudov throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Schwarzeneg to regain full guard. Rudov has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Rudov tries to free his leg and advance position but Schwarzeneg is retaining full guard. Schwarzeneg throwing short punches from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rudov throwing strikes but missing. Rudov trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Rudov throws a big elbow that misses. Rudov throwing strikes from guard but Schwarzeneg blocks nicely. Rudov throwing strikes from guard but Schwarzeneg blocks nicely. Rudov advances position into side control! Rudov tries for a kimura but Schwarzeneg is defending well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rudov tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Rudov has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rudov is trying to get an arm triangle but Schwarzeneg is defending well. Schwarzeneg looks to move to half guard but instead Rudov has passed into mount! Damn! The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Rudov controlling the position easily from mount. Rudov thowing shots but they're missing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A nice elbow there by Rudov. Rudov thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Schwarzeneg is squirming around, avoiding Rudov's attempts to control the action. Rudov working the ground and pound effectively.
Rudov thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Rudov jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Schwarzeneg is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Schwarzeneg and Rudov has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Rudov swings around for an armbar but Schwarzeneg sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Rudov's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Rudov wants to sweep but no luck. Rudov wants to control the position but Schwarzeneg says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Rudov wants to get back to full guard. Rudov regains full guard. Nicely done. Rudov is looking to sweep but instead, Schwarzeneg has passed into half guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rudov working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Schwarzeneg has passed into half guard!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Timur Rudov dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Schwarzeneg pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Rudov looks for a takedown but Schwarzeneg sprawls well. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Rudov. Rudov shoots in but no luck this time. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Timur Rudov. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rudov shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Rudov passes to full mount! Schwarzeneg holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Rudov tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

That's one minute gone in the round. Rudov throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Schwarzeneg because Rudov loaded up on that one. Rudov scoring with strikes but Schwarzeneg is staying in there. Schwarzeneg takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Rudov throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Schwarzeneg in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Rudov cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Schwarzeneg is still in real trouble! Can Rudov finish him? Schwarzeneg is breathing heavily. Rudov drops a big elbow. That's hurt Schwarzeneg! More shots from Rudov and the ref steps in! The fight is over!
