Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cabbage Patched (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vasiliy Sobolev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sobolev has chosen Ya kuplu tebe dom as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Patched stuns Sobolev with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Cabbage Patched.
A clash of legs there as Sobolev blocks the low kick.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Cabbage Patched has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vasiliy Sobolev.

Good leg kick by Patched there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Sobolev takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Sobolev drops his hands momentarily and Patched takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Patched wants to control from the top but Sobolev keeps moving.

Sobolev uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Patched ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Sobolev moves away.
Sobolev moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Cabbage Patched's cut is getting worse.
Patched shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sobolev as he avoids it easily.
Patched thows a body shot but no joy.
Patched manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Sobolev on his heels. He'll look to pass Sobolev's guard now, I'm sure.
Sobolev is looking to stand up but Patched isn't so interested in that idea.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Sobolev kicks Patched off and gets to his feet.
Sobolev will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Cabbage Patched dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Patched lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Patched stuffs the takedown attempt from Sobolev. Sobolev gets slowly back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Sobolev stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Patched has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Sobolev manages to get his head free but now Patched has transitioned to an armbar! Sobolev grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Patched! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
