Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bill Compton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steven de Pina (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Compton's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Granville Bowlin - Wild Bill. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bill Compton!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Steven de Pina!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Paulsen Ambrosius and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
de Pina throws a right and a left that Compton avoids nicely.
Compton moves out of range of the body kick.
Compton misses with an uppercut.
de Pina walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
de Pina tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Compton throws a series of punches but de Pina avoids them all with ease.
de Pina looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
de Pina dips to his left and cracks Compton with an uppercut!
de Pina misses with a double jab.
Compton with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
de Pina bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Compton gets a clinch.
Compton scores with a shot to the side of de Pina's head.
de Pina wants to get back to striking at distance but Compton won't allow it.
Compton lands with a short head shot on the inside.
de Pina takes an elbow to the temple.


It looks like Steven de Pina has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Compton tries to land knees in the clinch but de Pina avoids the damage to the body.

Compton swings wildly with an uppercut but de Pina uses good head movement to avoid it.
Compton connects with a nasty looking knee right to de Pina's face.

Compton throws an elbow that misses.
Compton is pushing de Pina up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

de Pina tries to break free but Compton pushes him back against the cage.
A nice right hand lands inside from Compton.

It looks like Bill Compton has been cut.
de Pina avoids a punch combination nicely.
No joy there for de Pina, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
de Pina throws a sloppy head kick and Compton moves out of range easily.
Compton lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
de Pina is still on wobbly legs! Can Compton finish him?
de Pina swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
de Pina seems to have recovered his senses.
Compton checks a low kick from de Pina.
de Pina throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
de Pina throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.


Compton is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Compton tries to close the distance and clinch but de Pina swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Oh Compton is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Steven de Pina seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Compton with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Compton tries to bum rush de Pina with a series of wild strikes but de Pina uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
de Pina looks to throw the jab but Compton is out of range.
Compton seems to have got his legs back now.
Compton moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

de Pina swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Compton counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Compton is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
de Pina slips a jab and a cross from Compton.
A looping hook to the body misses from de Pina. Compton does a little dance to reset his feet.
Compton misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
de Pina misses with a straight right.

and Compton counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Compton throws a head kick that de Pina semi-blocks.
de Pina throws a leg kick which misses Compton's front leg but catches the back leg as Compton tries to avoid it.
de Pina throws a wild body kick that Compton sees coming a mile off.
Compton on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
de Pina throws a combination that misses
and Compton counters with a leg kick.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Compton lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
de Pina looks to score with a jab to the body but Compton is just out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.

de Pina lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Compton circles away quickly and effectively.
de Pina misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

and Compton counters with a thumping low kick.

de Pina ducks straight into an uppercut from Compton and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - de Pina manages to regain guard straight away.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
de Pina moves forwards but Compton connects with a nice, crisp jab.
de Pina throws an off balance right hand
and Compton counters with a huge left! de Pina is in big trouble! He's backing up but Compton isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save de Pina from any more damage. A dominating finish by Compton!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bill Compton!
