14 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rebaldo Louza! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Seu Braga and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Louza shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Calzada counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Louza fails with a takedown attempt. Calzada connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Louza wants to clinch. Louza is trying hard to land a takedown here. Calzada sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Perlito Calzada has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rebaldo Louza. Louza takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Louza has his takedown stuffed and Calzada counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Calzada cracks Louza with an open hand slap. Louza is looking to clinch. Louza tries to close the distance and clinch up but Calzada swats him away and circles back towards the center. Calzada scores with a jab. Louza acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Louza closes this distance looking for a takedown but Calzada circles away. Calzada lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Louza tries to clinch but Calzada moves out of range. Louza tries to clinch and Calzada counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Louza wants to clinch and Calzada counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Louza is rocked! Calzada circles away from the clinch attempt and Calzada counters with a good low kick that Louza was not able to check. Perlito Calzada is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Louza looks gassed! Calzada is looking to slow Louza down with leg kicks. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Calzada bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Louza takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Louza is still on wobbly legs! Can Calzada finish him? Calzada connects with a body shot. Louza seems to have recovered his senses. Calzada throws a front kick that sends Louza stumbling back into the cage. Calzada paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Today's fight clock is brought to you by... OOOH that's a huge shot by Calzada! Louza is in big trouble here - the ref steps in to save him and this one is all over!
