Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between JD Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Colt Compton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). JD Smith has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, JD Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Colt Compton!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith wants to clinch
and Compton counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Smith takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Smith is rocked!
Compton throws a right and a left that Smith avoids nicely.
Oh Smith is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Smith shoots in looking for a takedown. Compton tries to sprawl out of it but Smith keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Compton manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Compton takes a swing at Smith's ribcage but misses.
Smith seems to have got his legs back now.
Smith shoots in for a takedown but Compton shows good takedown defense.
Smith tries to close the distance and clinch up but Compton swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Smith shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Compton as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for JD Smith. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Compton jabs at Smith's body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Compton lands a right hook to the body.
Smith is breathing heavily.
Compton circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Smith to the canvas! Smith doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Compton keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!

A very excited looking Colt Compton made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
