Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hedrig Pokousha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vik Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Hedrig Pokousha!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Vik Black!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pokousha shoots in for a takedown but Black shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Pokousha shoots in looking for a takedown but Black manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Pokousha's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Black avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
The fighters circling - Black throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Pokousha fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hedrig Pokousha. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Black gets tackled into the cage by Pokousha. Pokousha maintains the clinch.
Black wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Pokousha has him pressed against the cage.

Both fighters working to control the clinch.

Pokousha has hold of one of Black's legs. Black is fighting the takedown attempt but Pokousha gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Pokousha wants to pass the guard but Black is keeping the position.
Black wants to stand but Pokousha is controlling the position.

Pokousha postures up and lands a big shot to Black's brow.
Pokousha controls from within his opponent's guard.
Pokousha's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Pokousha forces his way into half guard.
Pokousha perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pokousha has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Hedrig Pokousha wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Pokousha keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Black.
Pokousha shoots in looking for a takedown. Black tries to sprawl out of it but Pokousha keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Black manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Black misses the jab.
Pokousha takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Pokousha dives in and grabs Black's left leg, looking for a takedown. Black pushes down on Pokousha's head and hops out.
Nice sprawl there from Black as Pokousha shoots in.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
A looping hook to the body misses from Black. Pokousha does a little dance to reset his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pokousha closes the distance and clinches up with Black, looking for a takedown. Pokousha pushes Black against the cage but Black circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Pokousha staying out of range there.
Pokousha will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Pokousha takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Pokousha on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Pokousha shoots in for a takedown but Black shows good takedown defense.
Pokousha slips under a jab.
Black misses with an uppercut. Pokousha saw that one coming.
Pokousha shoots for a takedown but Black saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Black stuffs the takedown.
Pokousha is breathing heavily.
Black fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Pokousha manages to avoid it.
Pokousha staying out of range there.

Pokousha feints and as Black raises his hands in defense, Pokousha changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Black wants to get back to his feet but Pokousha is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Black has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Pokousha is pushing down on Black's leg trying to pass to half guard. Black is fighting to maintain full guard but Pokousha has managed to sneak the leg through.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Pokousha seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Pokousha thows a huge punch but Black dodges it nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hedrig Pokousha dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Pokousha shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Black napping and manages to drive through into side control!

The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Pokousha looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Black is avoiding damage well.
Black gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Pokousha misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Pokousha avoids the attempt from Black to control.

That's one minute gone in the round.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Black can do anything to dispel that myth.

It looks like Vik Black has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
You get the feeling that Black really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Black tries to hold on but Pokousha pushes him away.

Black taking shots to the head.
Pokousha lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Pokousha raining down shots from the mount!

Pokousha unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Black wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Pokousha celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Hedrig Pokousha!
