Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Glenn Carson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Oquendo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oquendo scores with a nice right hand.
Carson wants to clinch up but Oquendo keeps it at a distance.

Carson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Oquendo to the mat! Oquendo manages to get full guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Oquendo feints a jab promting Carson to slip. Oquendo then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Carson slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Jose Oquendo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Oquendo throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
The fight stays on the outside here - Carson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Carson takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Oquendo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Carson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
A momentary lapse in concentration from Oquendo enables Carson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Oquendo manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Carson has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Oquendo is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Carson.
